JAKE NAM NGUYEN, ESQ.
Jake Nam Nguyen attended North Carolina State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Political Science.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Atlanta John Marshall Law school, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in the Criminal Justice Honors Program.
Jake is a passionate supporter of the Asian-American and Vietnamese communities. As a first-generation American, born in a refugee camp in Hong Kong, whose first language is Vietnamese, Jake understands the needs of the Asian American Community. Jake became an attorney to make sure every person has the same rights and is treated fairly under the law.
Jake launched his legal career as an Assistant Solicitor General focusing on misdemeanor cases, a sizeable proportion of which comprised of DUI, domestic violence, shoplifting, and traffic citations. In 2019, Jake was named lead attorney in his division and was responsible for supervising and training new prosecutors. Over the years, Jake has handled well over three hundred misdemeanor cases.
In 2021, Jake was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in Gwinnett County, where he prosecuted all felony cases. In his capacity as an Assistant District Attorney, Jake has successfully tried cases as the lead counsel in a wide range of felony offenses such as drug possession, kidnapping, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and murder. As a prosecutor, Jake has the opportunity to train with law enforcement. Jake’s training includes the Standard Field Sobriety Test (evaluation of DUI drivers) and ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement). Jake was often a guest instructor at the Gwinnett county police academy and taught police recruits about criminal law and procedures. These experiences present Jake with an insider perspective of how law enforcement officers investigate a case and how prosecutors evaluate cases. Jake’s unique expertise allows him to pinpoint the strength and weaknesses of a case. With his extensive courtroom experience, Jake is able to comfortably guide his client through the complicated maze of the legal system. Jake handles every case as if his client’s position will be presented to a jury. He is thoroughly prepared to obtain the best result for his clients regardless of the nature of the matter. If the case cannot be resolved amicably, Jake is prepared to go to court and fight for his client to get the best result the law provides. While not in the office or court, Jake enjoys culinary destinations and is hoping to curate a “life course menu.”
